About Me
Masters of Physiotherapy - Griffith University - Graduated 2009
Bachelor of Exercise Science - Griffith University - Graduated 2006
I’ve been working as a physio for 15 years. In that time I’ve worked in various workplaces and scenarios. This includes;
Multiple prestige physiotherapy clinics
Sporting teams
Senior positions within public hospitals
Complex musculoskeletal services within public and private hospitals
Community and home-based rehabilitation
Chronic disease management - Osteoarthritis, pulmonary rehabilitation, post orthopaedic management
Occupational physiotherapy in heavy industry
Outside of work I love to be active regularly surfing, mountain biking, golfing, gym and pilates. I’m also a dedicated family man with an amazing wife and two very active young boys.
You do not require a referral to see a private practice physiotherapist. However we have a lot of GP’s, surgeons and other allied health professionals who do refer to the clinic.
Private health payments are done on the spot through Hicaps.
If you do have a referral please email it through prior to your appointment or bring it with you on the day.
We are happy to liaise with case managers and funds in order to minimise paperwork for our patients:
Work Cover
If you've been injured at work in Queensland, Australia, you may be eligible to receive physiotherapy through WorkCover Queensland.
Once your claim is accepted, WorkCover can cover the cost of physiotherapy sessions to support your recovery and help you return to work safely. We will liaise directly with WorkCover to manage approvals and payments.
Physio
Physiotherapy is a funny profession. I often joke that its a terrible business model because if you do your job well you get rid of all your clients.
The way I approach it includes a clinical chat where I take the time to understand your problem, how it affects you, and what you want to get out of seeing me. We will also discuss any imaging you may have had and your general health, exercise and goals.
Following this will be some specific assessments to assess how you move, what hurts, and what makes things better and based on that, I will understand what’s going on and how to treat it.
Treatment will depend on lots of things and is different for every person. Typically it involves some form of “hands on” treatment in combination with some specific exercise-based therapy. We focus on a holistic approach to injury and condition treatment, ensuring that exercises and rehabilitation fit into your lifestyle and help you to reach your goals.
I allow 60 min for an initial appt and 45 minutes for review appointments.
Check out the conditions we treat to make sure we are the right fit for you.
